Rachael Ray recently provided an update on her health following a viral video from last month in which she appeared to slur her words.
In the first episode of her podcast, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead, the chef shared that she has been recovering from some injuries she linked to household tasks.
“I’m a homemaker. I love chores. I love being in the kitchen,” Ray said during the podcast. “I always work with my brain every day, I’m always writing something, but I really like chores.”
“I like what people consider physical work,” she said. “I like making dinner, planning dinners, making lists. I love physical labor, helping carry in the wood.”
She also mentioned that she often finds herself in a friendly competition with her husband, John. “‘How many pieces of wood did John carry? Can I carry more? I don’t say that to John. I just say it to myself,” she said.
The 56-year-old explained that she has had to pause her physical activities because she has experienced “a couple of bad falls” in recent weeks.
She did not elaborate on the circumstances of the falls or the nature of any injuries she may have incurred.
Fans began expressing concern for the TV personality’s health in early September when she posted a clip on Instagram that seemed to show one side of her face drooping and her words slurring.
“Look at her mouth. It looks like she may be recovering from a stroke,” one worried fan commented.
“Sounds tipsy to me. And she looks bloated. I hope she gets the help she needs or she will be another person dead from the awful disease of addiction,” another remarked.
Despite many comments reflecting both concern and support for the Food Network star, Ray did not respond to her fans until now.
While she didn’t go into great detail about the viral video, she did provide a reasonable explanation.
