Even while we usually think we know our spouses better than anybody else, there are times when we don’t. One woman told her spouse about the minor secret she kept from him.
While having supper at a restaurant, she noticed that her phone’s battery was becoming low and turned it off to save energy. Later, when she realized she couldn’t find her phone, she started to get nervous while driving home. She searched the car and her suitcase, but she couldn’t find anything. In a hurry, she convinced her husband to drive an hour back to the restaurant.
When they arrived, the manager helped them with their quest. Her husband was frustrated, but they searched everywhere. In the middle of it all, she felt something in her jacket pocket. To her surprise, her phone had been there the whole time.
She was ashamed of her mistake and did not want to admit it, so she decided to keep it a secret. She replied, “I didn’t want to admit it,” since she felt horrible about making him go back. Instead, she pretended to use the restroom and came back with a justification. Claiming to be hiding the truth, she said, “It was on the toilet tank.”
Her spouse is still unaware that she has had the phone with her the entire time. To spare herself more humiliation, she has decided to keep it a secret.
