Despite the ongoing drama with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie made a stunning appearance at the 2024 Tony Awards.
Accompanied by her 15-year-old daughter, Vivienne, Jolie attended the 77th Tony Awards at Lincoln Center in New York on June 16. Both mother and daughter wore green for the event.
Jolie’s choice of a striking, floor-length dress and her new hair color have sparked a range of opinions online, though it seems people always have something to say these days.
Vivienne wore a green suit, while Angelina dazzled in a flowing sea-foam green velvet gown.

The dress featured a draped, off-the-shoulder neckline with intricate ruching across the bodice, highlighting Angelina Jolie’s natural beauty to the fullest.
The “Tomb Raider” star completed her look with understated makeup and gold hoop earrings. Vogue Magazine shared images and videos of Angelina and Vivienne on Instagram, calling their red carpet appearance “a united mother-daughter fashion moment that completely stole the show.”
Iconic fashion designer Donatella Versace also posted a photo of the pair from the event, providing some background on the origins of Jolie’s stunning dress.

“You look so beautiful. I love that you celebrate Atelier Versace craftsmanship,” Versace commented. “This dress was created in 2013 and I remember you had huge creative input in the design… Artists supporting artists is so important!”
As is often the case today, Angelina’s appearance quickly sparked online discussion, with opinions divided over her outfit.
“That is one of the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen,” one fan praised.
“Angelina looks so stunning with honey blonde hair,” another admirer noted.
A third person remarked, “She looks great & the dress is sitting just right. Def agree that darker hair would’ve really brought the look together!”
Unfortunately, some people were critical of Jolie’s appearance.
“Angelina looks like a velvet drape curtain,” one critic commented on Instagram.
“That dress reminds me of old fashion curtains/drapes….ugh looks heavy,” another remarked.
A third person posted on Facebook: “Stylish? They look frumpy, both of them.”

Despite the mixed reviews, it was a great day for Jolie, who won her first Tony Award as a producer for the musical “The Outsiders”.
The production secured a total of four awards, including Outstanding Lighting Design, Outstanding Lighting Design of a Musical, Outstanding Sound Design of a Musical, and Best Direction of a Musical. Meanwhile, 15-year-old Vivienne was recognized as a producer’s assistant for the show.
