I decided to drive to my daughter’s place and surprise her because all I wanted for my 80th birthday was to see her. She looked embarrassed when she opened the door and asked, “Dad, why are you here?”
I smiled and said, “I just wanted to spend my birthday with you.” However, I was caught off guard by her reply. “You can’t stay, Dad,” she murmured. I’m currently quite busy.
She vehemently objected, saying, “No, Dad, you really need to go right now,” to my offer to sit on the couch until she had some time. Despite not wanting to, I turned and headed back to my car. As I was leaving, I heard noises coming from inside the house. When I looked through the window and saw two unfamiliar people inside, I became apprehensive. I dialed 911 as my concerns for my daughter’s security grew.
The police approached the house with caution and speed. After a few nervous moments, they came out with the two strangers handcuffed. My daughter sobbed and hurried out of the house after giving me a tight embrace. She sobbed, “Dad, I’m so sorry.” “I was trying to keep you safe.” The guys broke in just in time for you to get there. I wanted nothing awful to happen to you, but I was at a loss for what to do.
I gave her a strong hug and felt so much comfort. “It’s okay, sweetie. I’m happy just knowing that you’re safe.
The police told us that the invaders would be dealt with after hearing our stories. Thanks to the time I spent with my child, I had the most beautiful birthday I could have ever imagined.
