Ellie Yeater spends her summers not going out with friends, playing video games, or swimming in pools.
The 14-year-old Williamstown, West Virginia, native transformed a 1974 Wilderness camper into what she refers to as a “Glamper” during her summer break. The terms “glamorous” and “camping” are combined to form the word “glamper.”She claimed that the new Wilderness glamper will make camping much easier and more enjoyable.
She aspires to be a high school student, and you should see her perfectly maintained Wilderness camper.
The child’s mother Lori estimates that she saved about $500 from housekeeping, birthday money, and other activities, which she used to purchase and repair the camper.
This is a picture of the camper before it was altered.
Yeater claimed to have seen a $200 listing for her camper on a local bulletin board.
She used the money left over after purchasing the camper to pay for paint, flooring, bedding, and other glamper furnishings.
Ellie claims that because the previous owners used the camper for both camping and hunting, it was in really bad condition. To finish it, a lot of work was required. said her mom.
Her older brother Isaiah was the one who initially thought up the idea to construct a little camper.
She claims that Isaiah constructed a little cabin for him and his pals to hang out in, and since she needed electricity and Wi-Fi, she wanted something “cuter” and closer to the house for her friend.
She had to totally disassemble and clean the RV before she could open for business.
She then proceeded to paint the camper using the “Mystic Sea” tint by Valspar.
In the picture above, Ellie cleans up any extra glue that could have gone on the floor after everything has been disassembled.
Her grandfather Lawrence is also shown in the above photo instructing her on some fundamental carpentry skills, such as bracing and hole-patching.
The following phase was Ellie’s choice of color scheme, which is a shade of aqua blue.
Ellie meticulously paints the interior, bringing life to the otherwise drab wood theme.
The interior of the camper is beginning to take shape, as you can see in the picture below.
The final touches were put on in the later phases. While Ellie was installing new floor tiles, her grandmother Mary assisted with the upholstery of the sofa cushions and draperies.
Ellie said she had gathered a lot of items for her glamper during the summer.
She bought a mannequin decoration from a recently closed warehouse, as you can see in the picture below.
She said that Pinterest was a great help and a major source of inspiration for her endeavor.
Ellie is continuously adding final touches to the nearly completed Glamper, such matching napkins handcrafted by her grandmother, an antique camera, and a retro electric fan.
When asked what she plans to do once the project is finished, she replies that she might just read a book and play the ukulele in peace or that she might have a sleepover with her friends.
Ellie built a fantastic glamper with her tenacity. It’s incredible that someone her age can handle such a large task on their own.
Ellie’s mother says, “I have never told her that she couldn’t do anything,” in response to a question about why her daughter would undertake such a responsibility.
Ellie was motivated to create something truly lovely by it.
When Ellie’s project is finished, we must never forget that perseverance always pays off. We are capable of doing anything we set our minds to.
