Now that humorous, embarrassing, and often very personal movies and photographs of ourselves can be uploaded and shared immediately across the internet, we have finally reached the era of viral stories and clips.
Of course, this can be abused, but it can also be employed occasionally for the better; just think of the times when someone is called out for misbehavior.
I believe that’s what the public believed to be happening when an Instagram photo purportedly displaying a message from a woman who had left her baby in the car to go shopping at Target went viral in early March.
Enough to stop the heart, right? Don’t worry, there’s more to this story than meets the eye.
In March, influencer Bonnie Engle shared a reel to Instagram, and it went viral very soon. Since it was uploaded, the video has accumulated millions of views and more than 1,000 comments.
The previously stated video shows a close-up of a handwritten note that reads, “My baby is OK,” and it has been taped inside a car window. He has his snack and drink with him! I am currently in Target. Come back shortly!
It should go without saying that the note alone startled a lot of the people who watched the video.
However, many who were willing to watch the film quickly realized that Engle is more of a mischievous spouse than a terrible mother. The camera pans back a few seconds after the previously described close-up on the message in the window, exposing that Engle’s baby in the car is actually her husband.
“Please no judgment,” is how the influencer captioned the Instagram video. He is secure and in good health.
Her husband is seen eating popcorn and waiting inside the vehicle.
Fortunately, Bonnie’s video proved humorous to many who saw it and left comments.
“My heart dropped and then I LMAO,” a commenter said.
“Leaving them in the car is so much easier,” remarked a second person.
“For a brief moment, I felt like I was about to lose it… That also caught me off guard,” remarked a third person.
Reports state that a large number of Engels’ posts are humorous and perfect for moms who can relate to the day-to-day struggles of motherhood.
